Alert that a bid Envelope is to be opened

Hi,

My client is asking if the system (ARIBA ON-DEMAND SOURCING) is capable of sending alert or advise to certain people that a bid is ready to be opened?

Also, is it possible to set reminders for Envelope over due period wherein Mails could be sent out automatically to Project Owners requesting them to open envelopes.
