City of Tacoma Procurement and Payables division is collaborating with IT and client departments to streamline the City's procurement and payment processes by implementing a cloud-based eSourcing, contract authoring, e-signature and contract management, and procure to pay suite (SAP Ariba), and improve City's ERP system (SAP). The project is underway, with the software being deployed in phases through Spring, 2017.
This position will direct SAP Ariba implementation, automation, optimize software for government procurement operations including contract administration, negotiation, equipment disposal, disaster recovery planning, supply chain supervision and training. Oversee vendor management including using metrics to prepare reports for management.
This position will: provide oversight and maintenance to the SAP Ariba procure to pay software system, prepare reports and presentations to Executive Management, the City's vendor community, identify opportunities for City-wide master contracts, report on City Council priorities related to purchasing, define monitor and report on key performance measures of spend practice and provide ongoing leadership role to support the Procurement & Payables division Manager. Act as the Subject Matter Expert by providing system knowledge City-wide. May supervise and/or train staff.
Qualifications:
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS (TRAINING AND EDUCATION):
Bachelor's degree preferred. Requires four or more years of experience related to: data management processes and functions; research and analysis of data; and design and development of reports. Two or more years of software administration experience, preferably using Ariba and/or SAP. Two or more years of experience in a supervisory and/or lead capacity.
