What policies do companies have in place regarding access to corporate contracts? Specifically, do you allow contractors/contigent labor/consultants access to view corporate contracts? If so, what is your justification? If not, how have you written this policy language?
I believe corporate contracts with vendors should not be accessible by contractors. There's an inherent risk that a contractor may see contract terms for a competitor which would lead to a competitive advantage for future bids. Additionally, only company personnel that are authorized 'officers' of the company can sign the agreements. Contractors cannot and should not negotiate agreements with vendors on behalf of the corporation.
